Not so pride

2014

Installation: 18 pieces of ceramic with engobe, variable sizes.

Solo exhibition “Pride and Prejudice” exhibited at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Santiago de Chile.

“Ni tan pride” (“not so pride/proud”) is formed by 18 pieces of ceramic with engobe that present the figure of a rubber pony progressively deflating, in rows of chromatic colors.

The objects vary from the tones violet to red, filling the variety of colors in the LGBT pride flag. The work is proposed as a critical position about the models of homosexuality imposed, evincing the “deflated” term of “equality” proposed by such organizations and from the actual core of the gay community where the insults and labeling of every subject is permanent and degrading to the identities that are not equivalent to their sex and gender
