Las quilas

(2021) Video performance, 2:30 minutos.

La obra propone una relación del cuerpo humano con la quila, planta endógena del Wallmapu, hermafrodita y bisexual. Su florecimiento es sincronico a otras quilas y además también esta es también el fin de su ciclo de vida. Las quilas también fueron el muro que la misma naturaleza impuso para evitar la colonización del bosque nativo. La propuesta de video performance nos propone desarticular las lógicas binarias que se han construido sobre la naturaleza y los cuerpos, viendo en la quila, una potencia no binaria.

The work proposes a relationship between the human body and the quila, an endogenous plant, native to Wallmapu, that is hermaphrodite and bisexual. Their blooming is synchronic to other quilas and also marks the end of their life cycle. The quilas were also the wall that nature herself built in order to avoid the colonization of the native forest. The proposal of the video is to disarticulate the binary way of thinking which has been imposed upon nature and the human body, using the quila, a non-binary power, as an example.
