La performance y pieza de vestuario “PASADO/FUTURA” toma como elemento central el pelo, parte del cuerpo humano que crece incluso al morir, es decir, cuando se deja el mundo físico. El pelo dentro de diversos pueblos ha tenido significados fuera de los otorgados por occidente, donde se asocia principalmente a lo femenino.

La performance activa el material del pelo como un elemento vivo y presente en la política e identidad indígena, la pieza textil que se exhibe es resultado de la performance hecha con público, donde se escribe con pelo: KAL, la palabra que significa pelo en mapudungun (lengua mapuche).

The performance and costume piece “PASADO/FUTURA” [PAST/FUTURE] takes as a central element the hair, a part of the human body that keeps growing even when it leaves the physical world, dying.

The performance activates the material of hair as a living element, present in the politics and indigenous identity. The textile piece that is exhibited is the result of the performance made before the public, where the word ‘KAL’ –which means ‘hair’ in Mapudungun, the Mapuche language– is written with hair.
